As a band, Linkin Park doesn’t only create music but they also participate in charity with their own organization, Music For Relief. They founded this organization with a goal to provide relief to victims of natural disasters, such as the Haiti Earthquake and also the devastating chaos that Typhoon Haiyan left in the Philippines. They also aim to raise more awareness to global warming.
Linkin Park recently performed in the Philippines last August 13, 2013 at the Mall of Asia Arena which was anticipated by many fans since their last visit happened way back in 2004. The band didn’t disappoint the fans as they play songs from Hybrid Theory to Living Things and the fans doing back the favor by singing their heart out with every word and even Na na na’s during What I’ve Done outro that gave me goosebumps (yes, I was there). As the show was about to end, papers with “Come Back Soon” sign has been lifted up in the air to show them that we really want to see them and Mike acknowledged the signs and assured that they will come back soon.
But their comeback might be not because of a tour but because of the Typhoon Yolanda that devastated some parts of Visayas and is considered as one of the strongest typhoons that ever made a landfall. Different countries, organizations, charities, and even a homeless kid donated for the victims of the typhoon. One of the organizations that is making an effort towards helping them is Music For Relief. Items such as signed guitars and many other collectors item are being auctioned right now in hopes of raising more money for donation. Linkin Park is going to play a concert will all the proceeds going to the Philippines, which is called Concert For The Philippines. They will be joined by other bands such as The Offspring, Bad Religion, Travis Barker and The Filharmonic, and Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart. The said relief concert is going to be held later at Los Angeles in Club Nokia.
Through this post, I am thanking Linkin Park for all the efforts they are doing for my country, especially those victims of the typhoon. They never fail to inspire me to do such things and be a better person. Once again, THANK YOU LINKIN PARK FOR ORGANIZING CONCERT FOR THE PHILIPPINES!

According to Mike, the most overwhelming fan freak out they ever dealt with was when they were here in Manila to play and they did a meet & greet. THIS MEANS A LOT TO ME BECAUSE I WAS THERE. I FUCKING MET MY HEROES THAT DAY. IT WARMS MY HEART HEARING THOSE WORDS COMING OUT OF HIS MOUTH BECAUSE OUT OF ALL THE MEET & GREET THEY DID, THEY REMEMBER MANILA THE MOST. I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY RIGHT NOW.
